  1.  Approve November meeting minutes
  2. Updates: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership, Publicity, Health & Wellness
    1. President Allison Melvin’s term is up and will not be seeking re-election
    2. To Qualify for President role- must hold a board role and attend 80% PTO meetings
    3. If interested in President Role or even a board position you have till May to decide- Please reach out to Allison with any questions.
  3.  Fundraising:   
    1.  recap of cookie dough fundraiser -wrap up and was successful-check received
    2. Winter/spring fundraisers- decided that a subcommittee is needed if it is a big event . Katie and Kate have lot of ideas
  4. Teacher/Bus Driver Appreciation planning
    1. Outlined in bylaws that it is organized by VP
    2. 1,300 budget -distributed in May
      1. (2019)Staffing numbers- LPS(88), THES(55), LMS(49), LHS(79)
      2. (2021) buses(10) and van drivers(4)

  3. Little Casear’s Pizza kits until Feb 9th
  4. Should the PTO host a big Spring event
    • Family night or Parents Night?
    • PTO agrees that the event should be outdoor venue.

PTO Meeting –October 4,2021

  1. September Minutes were not approved
    • Needed to add that PTO approved the proposed 2022 budget and approved the gift to each school $500 =2,000 total to all the schools.
  2. School Updates
    • Alix updated us based on the email updates from the principals
    • We need the principals to consistently advertise and publicize events.
  3. Fundraising –
    • Red carpet disposal, if you mention Lunenburg PTO he give the PTO $25 per reference
    • Liz will add to our webpage/Facebook
    • Cherry Hill – still waiting on the totals
    • Cookies sales-(Rebecca’s Nut-Free) Order thru Nov 8th /Delivering December 8th -pickup on Northfield Rd
  4. Trunk or Treat -October 30th
    • If PTO wants to participate Liz Masons company will sponsor
  5. PTO links are still not working – Liz is looking into this.

PTO Meeting –Nov 8,2021

Attendance: Allison Melvin ,Alix Lind,  Amanda Lehtinen, Mari Braithwaite, Liz Mason, Mandy Gilman, Shauna Baril, Angel Norvaez, Katie Donell, Carrie Graham, Meredith Henry, Meredith Weiss, Principal Tim Santry, Principal Heidi Champagne, Asst. John Palumbo, Principal Chad Adams.

 

  1. Principals from all four schools-
    • PTO presented each School Principal gift of $500 dollars to each school
  2. Principal's Reports
    • Middle School -Principal Tim Santry
  • Welcoming back all the students returning after hybrid and remote; there was a bump in enrollment Santry - sizes are much bigger than ideal.
  • I-ready
  • Support Staff has been amazing
  • Social events -Movie Night- was cold but fun
  • Safety –
    • Sixth Grade is separated from the other grades due to vaccination rates.
    • Alice Drills – this week (Nov 8th) Video Nov 12th

 

  1. High School -Acting Principal Tim Santry
    • Polling Strengths/weakness
    • Welcoming back students from hybrid and remote
    • New staffing is making a strong impact
      • Additional staff is really helping with emotional support -recovering from last year-anxiety is really high among students
      • Interface is a great tool for emotional support
    • Grant for afterschool help.
    • Sports teams did amazing this year.
    • Home coming- pep rally outside but still a lot of fun.

 

  1. THES Elementary School – Principal Heidi Champagne and Asst. John Palumbo
    • 366 Kids enrolled / 136- 3rd graders
    • THES restore normalcy and to avoid Quarantine
    • They opened a mini-Café for lunch – reminding the kids to keep social distance when mask are not in use.
    • Penny wars -Successful – dance party and raised enough money for Sunshade (install in the Spring)
    • Good deed shut outs over the loud speaker
    • Professional Dev.
    •  
      • Math literacy academics, leadership etc.
      • Tutors and intervention -data driven
      • Asst. John Palumbo (Back-ground Mental Health
        • He is out of recess- which has cut back behaviors and defuses the arguments and incidents.
      • Pick up -Super fast
      • Star gazing-Nov 16th
      • No Homework Pilot- to give more time with family, but nightly reading is still encouraged
      • Turkey Trot- day before Thanksgiving

 

  1. Primary -Principal Chad Adams
    • Thanked the PTO for the school gift
    • Biggest Challenge providing adequate time for all programs (work in progress
    • School Adjustment – a School Counselor
    • Morning announcements – now includes pledge allegiance, birthday shout outs, and what is for lunch
    • An intervention block is added this year- for common planning and whatever is needed
    • PLC
    • Literacy academy
    • Professional dev.
    • Lunch is still in the gym (for social distancing)
    • Social events -fire department -book fair, literacy pumpkins, Halloween parade and spirit week
    • Alice training -Hank and Officer McNamara is coming for support during the Shelter in place
    • Veterans Day- Students are reading a poem during morning announcements
    • Thanksgiving Turkey Trot- day before Thanksgiving
    • After school programs are hopefully returning January
    • Finalizing the new homework policy- which will encourage students to read nightly
    • SEL- students love giving high 5’s
    • Students are doing great some are struggling but most students struggling were not a surprise
    • A parent questioned the inconsistency in communication- Principal Adams agreed in the inconsistencies and is working on improvement

  3. Shawna asked about building reps- should we have them again?
    •  the group agreed beneficial and hopes to find a volunteer
  4. Cookie Dough – so far 100 sold
    • Pick up at 204 Northfield Rd December 8th
    • Volunteer spot set up
  5. Push Shutterfly and Amazon Smile
  6. Art Teachers reached out about the art supplies donated if we want them back since they were not used since the event was canceled due to covid- PTO decided that the supplies should be kept and used in the school.
  7. An Exploratory group (for Fundraising ideas) will be created
  8. Minutes will be published on PT Board
  9. December meeting- Talk about hosting SING, Teacher Appreciation and Parents night out, discuss further memberships

  1. Introductions: Everyone Welcome to PTO
    • The group discussed our Roles within the PTO organization and our Goals for the next year, especially promoting PTO and its contributions to the schools.
  2. Approved Minutes for June Meeting
  3. Budget – Alix went over our past and current budget and shared statements from past fundraising events and the gifts to the schools
    • Voted on budget -approved the proposed 2022 budget and approved the gift to each school $500 =2,000 total to all the schools.
  4. Membership
    The group is hopeful that this year will have a high enrollment in membership.
    •  Possible adding a QR code at the three schools, the PTO slides were approved by Superintendent for use at the open house.
    • Liz is going to reach out to the Superintendent office about the links on the schools’ website not working.
  5. Cherry Hill Fundraiser
    • Monday September 20th 4-7pm and % of sales made will be donated to PTO and there will be a PTO Membership table
  6. Publicity Needs
    • To request work from Liz Mason, example flyers for an event please give her all the details needed and be mindful to give her time to mockup and print.
  7. Future Meetings – we will follow how the school board is conducting meetings
